Liverpool attacker Federico Chiesa and his agent have told the club that they want to remain at Anfield this summer (Fabrizio Romano).
Chiesa was reportedly looking to leave the Reds in search of game time.
However, he has made a U-turn and decided to stay in Merseyside due to how the transfer window has panned out.
Liverpool sold Luis Diaz to Bayern Munich and have not signed a replacement for the Colombian, leaving the left-wing spot open for Chiesa.
The Italian international now only has to compete with Cody Gakpo for a starting berth.
He showed last weekend that he could be a terrific alternative option for the Premier League champions.
Liverpool had seen Bournemouth come from behind to equalise and tie their Premier League opener at 2-2.
Reds boss Arne Slot called upon Chiesa from the bench, and he delivered with a well-taken goal.
Chiesa can play across the frontline and is as direct as any winger out there.
Unfortunately, the massive problem for the 27-year-old is the niggling injuries that have held back his development and eaten up his time at the club.
Signed for an initial £10 million a year ago, he has only managed around 474 minutes of action for the Merseyside outfit, mainly due to injuries.
If he can stay fit, Chiesa is a fantastic player, but that is a big if.
The former Fiorentina and Juventus star, who earns around £180,000 per week, has garnered interest from Serie A, with Napoli exploring options to bolster their roster.
The smiling winger, who is gaining cult status at the club despite making only 15 appearances, wants to stay, and the ball is now in Liverpool’s court to decide what to do.
