Felipe Caicedo says Nilson Angulo could have landed a top-six Premier League move had he waited until the summer, after the winger joined Sunderland on deadline day.

According to Olé, the former Manchester City striker felt the step up from Belgium is obvious and believed holding off for six months until the end of the season could have taken Angulo to that level.

The 22-year-old completed a permanent switch for an initial £15 million, with up to £2.5 million in add-ons.

He arrives from Anderlecht after 22 league appearances this term, producing six goals and seven assists.

His arrival coincided with Simon Adingra leaving the Stadium of Light for AS Monaco on an initial loan that includes an option to buy.
