As Boca prepare for pre-season, Felipe Melo has voiced his desire to manage the club one day, while accepting he is not yet ready.
The multiple Copa Libertadores winner and long-time admirer of Boca set out his ambition in an Instagram video. The player said in a post that he is not ready yet, but is sure his time will come.
He also praised Juan Román Riquelme’s role as club president, saying he holds him in the highest regard and considers him the right person for Boca. He believes Riquelme will assemble a very strong team to try to win the Libertadores and reclaim success in CONMEBOL competition.
Meanwhile the board continue to work on signings, with no deals closed so far.
A move for Marino Hinestroza from Colombia is on hold due to financial differences between Atlético Nacional and the player, with the club seeking to keep a percentage of any future sale.
Riquelme and Marcelo Delgado are leading the search for reinforcements. San Lorenzo’s institutional situation has prevented Boca from advancing for Gastón Hernández or Alexis Cuello, who both interest the hierarchy.
