Fenerbahce have kicked off talks with Aston Villa to sign Leon Bailey, according to Foot Mercato.
Having recently said goodbye to Edin Dzeko and Dusan Tadic, last season’s Super Lig runners-up are in the market for attacking reinforcements.
Villa are currently open to offers for Bailey, who has not featured consistently due to increased competition for a starting berth.
The Jamaican was courted earlier in the transfer window by Saudi Pro League newcomers NEOM SC, who have since signed Said Benrahma to boost their attacking options.
With two years remaining on his Villa contract, Bailey could now be set for a move to Turkey as Fenerbahce plot to sign him.
Bailey has built a reputation as a dynamic and explosive winger since his move from Bayer Leverkusen to Aston Villa in 2021.
Despite flashes of brilliance during his time in England, the 27-year-old was subdued last season.
He bagged two goals and four assists in 38 appearances across all competitions, most of which came from the bench.
A switch to Istanbul would offer Bailey the chance to revive his career and ignite Fenerbahce’s title ambitions under manager Jose Mourinho.
The Yellow Canaries have already completed the acquisition of Jhon Duran from Al-Nassr and are currently working on deals to sign Milan Skriniar and Marco Asensio.
Fenerbahce will kick off preparations for the upcoming campaign with a friendly against Portuguese outfit Portimonense on Friday.
