Fenerbahce deny interest in Ermedin Demirovic as Sebastian Hoeneß voices irritation | OneFootball

Fenerbahce have rejected reports linking Stuttgart striker Ermedin Demirovic with a move to Istanbul, and Sebastian Hoeneß has also voiced irritation.

The club said in a statement that claims of interest in the Bosnian forward were completely unfounded, adding they were making no transfer attempts regarding the player.

"I was irritated and, to be honest, annoyed by some of what was written," he told Bild. "My goal is always to have the best players at VfB and Medo is one of our best players."

Sky reported that Fenerbahce had set their sights on Demirovic and that his future at Stuttgart is open, with VfB in principle willing to sell if an offer of 15 to 20 million euros arrives. Dzenan Pejcinovic was lined up as a replacement, with the club keen to prise him from relegated VfL Wolfsburg.

Sky also said Demirovic is under contract until 2028 and is not currently thinking about a move, feeling comfortable in Stuttgart with a positive sporting outlook. Juventus Turin and Leeds United were likewise named as interested clubs.

Fenerbahce also addressed speculation about Rafael Leao, saying reports of an offer worth around 100 million euros, including fee and salary, did not reflect the truth and no approach was made to the player or AC Milan.
