L'Équipe reports that Fenerbahçe were fined by UEFA in late June for breaching financial fair play, yet the sanction has not halted their recruitment. They host OL in the Champions League play-off first leg on Tuesday at 21:00.
Mason Greenwood then Romelu Lukaku have arrived to bolster an already expensive squad. Nathan Aké has also joined this summer.
The group already featured Ederson, N'Golo Kanté, Marco Asensio and Mattéo Guendouzi, among others.
The wage bill now stands at roughly €170m per year. In Türkiye, Galatasaray are next on €116m.
By comparison, OL’s annual salaries total €55m.
