Fenerbahçe near Mason Greenwood agreement with Marseille | OneFootball

Mason Greenwood (25) is on the verge of leaving Olympique de Marseille with the Ligue 1 side nearing an agreement with Fenerbahçe, according to Foot Mercato. The former Manchester United striker was expected to leave Les Phocéens this summer to free up funds. Greenwood also wanted out after only two seasons in Marseille. The 25-year-old already reportedly gave back the keys of his Aix-en-Provence house.

Greenwood didn’t lack suitors with AS Roma and Atlético de Madrid said to be interested. However, Turkish Süper Lig giants Fenerbahçe are close to win the race to his signing. Foot Mercato reported on Sunday that Fenerbahçe and Marseille were locked in talks, althouth the Istanbul-based club’s €30m bid fell short of Marseille’s valuation of Greenwood.

Now the outlet understands that Fenerbahçe are in the process of matching Marseille’s exit terms for Greenwood. The player himself has given the move the green light. Greenwood’s entourage was confident that a deal could be finalized in the next days.
