Benfica have rejected a 40 million euro offer from Fenerbahçe for Vangelis Pavlidis.

Fanatik reports that the Istanbul club will now table 50 million euros plus bonuses for the Greek striker.

Talks will not be straightforward, with Rui Costa and Marco Silva intent on keeping him and only open to negotiating at around 70 million euros.

Pavlidis is under contract until 2029 and has a 100 million euro release clause. Despite the signing of Jhon Durán, Marco Silva views him as indispensable and has asked the club to try to keep him.

In June, Besiktas were the first side from Türkiye to make a move and were ready to reach 35 million euros. That figure also failed to convince Benfica.

Signed from AZ Alkmaar in 2024 for 18 million euros, Pavlidis has 65 goals and 18 assists in 113 Benfica games.
