Fer López’s time in England has been short-lived. After a quiet start to the 2025/26 season with Wolves, the 21-year-old forward is heading back to familiar surroundings, returning to Celtade Vigo on loan until the end of the campaign.
The move comes just six months after López left Vigo in a £19.5 million switch to Molineux. There is no option to buy included in the deal, with Celta covering the player’s wages and paying Wolves a small loan fee, as the Spaniard looks to get his career back on track.
A product of Celta’s academy, López worked his way through the youth ranks before breaking into the first team during the 2024/25 season, scoring four goals in 20 appearances. His performances earned him a move to the Premier League, but chances proved limited in England.
López made 12 appearances for Wolves in all competitions, starting just three Premier League matches and registering one assist. Since Christmas, his involvement has been minimal, totalling just 20 minutes across two substitute outings.
Celta sit seventh in La Liga, narrowly outside the European places, and will also compete in the Europa League knockout rounds.
