According to Sebastien Denis of Foot Mercato, Ferencváros have received at least two loan offers for Tunisian midfielder Aïssa Laïdouni. Laïdouni, a star of the World Cup despite Tunisia’s premature exit, shone brightly in games against both Denmark and France. In the former, he was awarded the Man of the Match award.
Ferencváros are eight points clear at the top of the Hungarian first division, with two games in hand. If Laïdouni, a product of Angers’ youth system, were to move, he could potentially sacrifice European football next season. Loan offers with mandatory purchase options to the tune of around €5m have been presented to the Hungarians by two Serie A relegation rivals: Sampdoria and Cremonese. The Tunisian may prefer to stay in Budapest.
Sampdoria and Cremonese desperately need an influx of confidence if they are to find themselves in the Italian top flight next season. While Laïdouni may well be the perfect match for either side, he may feel that his attributes, calibre, and age (26) warrant higher praise.
