Lewis Ferguson’s agent says the Scotland midfielder is ‘happy’ at Bologna, but is also ‘ready’ to play in any of the top-five European leagues, with Serie A and the English Premier League as his ‘primary options.’
Scotland star Ferguson, 26, has had ups and downs in his second season under Vincenzo Italiano at Bologna, scoring just one goal and providing no assists in 42 appearances across all competitions this term.
The 26-year-old’s contract at the Stadio Dall’Ara expires in June 2028, but Bologna hold an option to extend for a further campaign.
Ferguson is expected to start in Bologna’s away game at Napoli on Monday evening, while his agent, Bill McMurdo, has explained the midfielder’s transfer priorities for the summer.
“Lewis has two years left in his contract. We’ll soon meet with the club to see whether they want to offer him a contract extension or let him go,” Ferguson’s agent told TMW.

“Lewis is more than ready to play in one of the so-called top Italian clubs, if they show interest and if Bologna are willing to sell him. He wants to play at the highest possible level to continue improving in his career.”
Ferguson has been playing for Bologna since 2022, when he completed a permanent €2m transfer from Aberdeen.
He has become the Rossoblu’s captain and contributed to a historic Coppa Italia victory last season.

Ferguson has scored 15 goals and provided six assists in 132 appearances with Bologna.
“He would consider offers from any of the top five leagues, with Italy and England as his primary options,” his agent concluded.
“Lewis is more than happy to stay at Bologna, but he’s also ready to take on any new challenge to develop in his career. Any transfer, however, must be profitable for both parties.”
