Ferguson could anticipate return to Brighton

Roma are having serious offensive problems.

While Gian Piero Gasperini can count on a rock-solid defense, conceding only three goals in his first eight league games, he can’t say the same for the Giallorossi attack.

So far, the Roman team has scored just eight goals in Serie A, 11 including the Europa League.

The strikers’ numbers are even more worrying: Artem Dovbyk and Evan Ferguson have only scored one goal between them, the Ukrainian’s goal against Verona.

A turning point is needed in January, especially with a super-attacking coach like Gasperini, and Frederic Massara is studying all options.

The dream would be to hand over to the Giallorossi manager one of Arnaud Kalimuendo or Joshua Zirkzee, but one of Artem Dovbyk and Evan Ferguson must leave the capital in January.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Roma have begun talks with Brighton to bring forward the end of the number 11’s loan. A drastic decision, but one that could prove to be the only option available to the Giallorossi sporting director.
