“He has a lot of room for improvement,” said Gian Piero Gasperini about Roma’s new striker, Evan Ferguson.
The Irishman, born in 2004, wowed Roma fans with a superb performance against Vincenzo Italiano’s Bologna and is ready to start again in the match against Pisa.
He got off to a flying start, but suffered a brief setback in England following Gasperini’s tough training sessions, writes Daniele Aloisi in Il Messaggero. It’s no coincidence that until two years ago, Manchester United and Chelsea were willing to offer around €70 million for him.
He arrived at Trigoria on loan with an option to buy set at €38 million, and if he had a strong season, the Giallorossi could seriously consider paying that sum to Brighton.
Meanwhile, Artem Dovbyk seems destined to stay and will most likely be the Irish striker’s backup.
