Fernando Diniz confirms Wesley talks and praises forward | OneFootball

Fernando Diniz has confirmed Corinthians are exploring a move for academy product Wesley and says the 21-year-old wants to return.

"Our top priority, our biggest reinforcement, is keeping the team together. We will look at good players like Wesley, a homegrown talent with characteristics I like, a dribbler who wants to return to Corinthians. If this matures, it will be an important addition for us," he told SporTV before Sunday’s friendly against FC Cascavel.

According to Meu Timao, Wesley, who is under contract at Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia, has been offered to Corinthians. The board are assessing a deal, but the initial demands from his camp are above what the club deems viable.

The forward also has strong interest from Cruzeiro, who are pushing to sign him. According to ESPN Brasil, they have agreed the framework of a season-long loan with no fee and no purchase option.

Before adding reinforcements, Corinthians must resolve a Fifa transfer ban over late payment to Philadelphia Union for midfielder José Martínez. Football executive Marcelo Paz said players still need to be sold to meet the R$ 151 million budget target before widening recruitment.
