Fernando Diniz earns strong backing as Corinthians fans rate start excellent | OneFootball

Fernando Diniz has made a striking start at Corinthians, with a majority of supporters rating his early work as excellent after 16 matches in charge.

According to Meu Timao, 59.3% of fans in a poll judged his performance as excellent and above expectations. A further 30.7% said it was good but could be better, 9.1% called it average, with only 0.7% poor and 0.2% very poor.

Diniz has overseen 16 games, winning nine, drawing four and losing three, a 65% return of available points. His debut on the touchline came in the Libertadores group stage, a 2-0 win over Argentina’s Platense.

Since then, Corinthians have topped their continental group and reached the Copa do Brasil last 16. In the Campeonato Brasileiro, they climbed from the relegation zone to 10th, on 24 points.

The squad are on holiday until next Thursday, the 25th, when they will report back to the CT Dr. Joaquim Grava to prepare for the second half of the season.

Before competitive action resumes, Diniz’s side will face FC Cascavel on 12 July at Estádio Olímpico Regional in Cascavel, Paraná.
