Ferran Torres asks Paris Saint-Germain to sign former Barcelona teammate | OneFootball

In the summer, Ferran Torres made the decision to leave Barcelona, something did not go down well among club personnel – including his former teammates. He chose to join Paris Saint-Germain, although there are parts of his life in Catalonia that he is missing in Paris.

The main thing is not something, but rather, someone – and that someone is Pedri. Torres considers the 23-year-old to be his best friend in football, which is why he was disappointed to no longer be sharing a dressing room with him.

However, he believes that they could be re-united in the French capital. PSG officials, including Luis Enrique, have long held interest in Pedri, and according to Le Parisien (via El Nacional), Torres is ready to do everything possible to ensure that his best friend joins the back-to-back European champions next summer.

Barcelona have no plans to sell Pedri

Torres will reportedly try to convince Pedri to join him at PSG, although that would be the only way for there to be any chance of a move happening. Barcelona have absolutely no intention of selling one of their best players, and even if a move were to be made from Paris, they would likely refer to the midfielder’s release clause, which is valued at €1bn.

Torres’ efforts to convince Pedri will almost certainly come in vain. Despite hailing from the Canary Islands, he is a boyhood Barcelona fan, with that stemming from his grandfather. It’s a dream for him to be wearing the Blaugrana, so it would be a major surprise if he suddenly decided to move on.

Pedri has had an inconsistent start to the season, which is understandable given that he’s trying to figure out his best role alongside Barcelona summer signing Rodri. There is a strong belief that he will soon be back to the levels he has shown over the previous two campaigns, and he will be given every chance possible to play himself back into form.
