Paris Saint-Germain fought back from two down to draw 2-2 at Rennes at Roazhon Park as the champions began their Ligue 1 defence with a point.

In the ninth minute, Sebastian Szymański rifled in off the left post from Adrien Thomasson's pass to put Rennes ahead.

Désiré Doué had a lob ruled offside after a flag was upheld by VAR (21.). Estéban Lepaul then doubled the lead from Przemysław Frankowski's low cross (38.).

Luis Enrique turned to Ferran Torres at half time and the forward transformed Paris Saint-Germain's threat. He ran onto Fabián Ruiz's lofted ball to pull one back (71.), then glanced in Ruiz's cross for a late equaliser (82.). They were Torres's first goals for the club since joining this season, and he is now third in Ligue 1 scoring with two.

Willian Pacho preserved the point with a goal-line block to deny Ludovic Blas (86.).

Paris Saint-Germain finished with 69.6% possession and 19 attempts as they pressed throughout. Rennes registered nine attempts and did not win a corner.

Next, Rennes host Le Mans. Paris Saint-Germain visit LOSC.
