PSG beat Marseille in Le Classique at the weekend ,a really enjoyable and intense derby.

The opening goal was just a brilliant bit of striker play which we’re getting used to seeing from Ferran Torres. A sharp run across the near post, a perfectly timed leap and a placed header past a helpless keeper. Elite. The cut back and cross from Desire Doue wasn’t bad either.

Marseille were spurred into action, and struck back soon after. But PSG took the lead again, with Marquinhos keeping up his amazing goalscoring record this season to put the away team back ahead from a set piece just two minutes after the equaliser.

Torres goals brings incredible stat

Perhaps the most ridiculous stat from the game was that Torres, who came on as a second half sub, ended up winning the man of the match award.

Why is that ridiculous? Well that makes it 3 MOTM awards in 5 Ligue 1 games for the Spaniard. The most insane part? Only two of those games he started.

It’s hard to remember a more significant, instant impact from a summer signing.
