Ferran Torres has become the player from the Valencian Community with the most caps for Spain after featuring in Spain’s second World Cup match, a 4-0 win over Saudi Arabia, taking his tally to 59.
Superdeporte notes that the Barcelona forward reached the mark. He started on the bench and came on at half-time for Mikel Oyarzabal.
This appearance moved the Foios native one ahead of Raúl Albiol, who had 58 and led the regional list until the tournament began.
Born on 29 February 2000 and developed at Valencia, he debuted for Spain in September 2020 at 20 and has scored 24 goals. He is a former Manchester City player.
He also found the net against Saudi Arabia but the effort was ruled out for offside.
