According to Voetbal International, Feyenoord defender Marcus Pedersen is close to joining Sassuolo. The Norwegian right-back has spent the last two seasons in Rotterdam, and after helping his side lift their 16th Eredivisie title, the 23-year-old is set to make a move. There are still some details that need to be agreed before the transfer can take place.
With the arrival of Bart Nieuwkoop (27), who immediately picked up a red card on his return debut for the club, Pedersen’s role at Feyenoord seems to be over. Lutsharel Geertruida (23) can also play as a right-back. The Dutch defender was close to joining RB Leipzig earlier in the transfer window, but a move broke down.
Marcus Pedersen joined Feyenoord from Molde FK in the summer of 2021. In total, the 18-time Norway international played 88 games for the Dutch giants. He played a crucial part in Feyenoord’s success last season, as they lifted the title for the first time in four seasons. A move to Sassuolo is on the horizon for Pedersen. The Italian club finished 13th in Serie A last season.
