Feyenoord are hoping to sign Anderlecht goalkeeper Timon Wellenreuther before the end of the transfer window.
The Rotterdam club head into the 2022/23 season with arguably the best goalkeeper in the Netherlands in the form of Justin Bijlow, but would like to sign another backup option, which makes sense given his injury problems.
According to 1908, they want Wellenreuther to be that option and are currently working on signing the German from Anderlecht, where he has two years left on his contract.
The 26-year-old has spent three seasons in the Eredivisie, being Willem II’s first-choice keeper from 2017 onwards when he joined from Schalke before being signed by Anderlecht in the summer of 2020.
After a season there, he then returned to the Dutch club on loan last year, starting 31 of their 34 league matches in the 2021/22 campaign.
What his arrival would mean for the current number two keeper at Feyenoord, Ofir Marciano, is unclear.
