Corinthians announced the appointment of Fernando Diniz on Monday night following the departure of Dorival Júnior, drawing a split response from supporters.

According to Meu Timao, many were unhappy with the choice, pointing to his recent results and playing philosophy, with some online even fearing a relegation fight.

Others were more upbeat, arguing his bold approach could fit the team’s needs, while some backed him after an unveiling video showed Diniz holding a Corinthians shirt from his playing days.

A number accepted they disliked the move but vowed to support the club, with one recalling previous managers and insisting this hire would not change their backing.

Diniz has signed a contract to the end of 2026, aligning with president Osmar Stabile’s term. He is due to make his debut on Thursday against Platense in the Copa Libertadores opener.

Kick-off is 21:00 Brasília time at Estádio Ciudad de Vicente Lopez.
