FIFA has revoked Corinthians’ transfer ban after the club paid US$ 6.2 million to Santos Laguna of Mexico for Ecuadorian defender Félix Torres, ending a block that lasted almost five months. According to Globo.com, the decision allows the club to register new players again.
It will be their first registrations since 12 August last year, when only forward Vitinho arrived during the previous window.
With the ban lifted, Corinthians are expected to announce defender Gabriel Paulista as their first signing for the 2026 season. He has an agreement nearing completion with the club.
He will join on a free after terminating his contract with Besiktas of Türkiye.
A separate transfer ban, active since October, was also lifted in recent days after the club advanced the third instalment of a CNRD agreement at the CBF.
Corinthians also avoided another ban by reaching agreement with Matías Rojas’ representatives and paying R$ 41.2 million to the Paraguayan midfielder following FIFA and CAS rulings.
However, four further debts could still trigger bans, all subject to FIFA decisions the club have appealed to CAS and still pending. They concern US$ 4,334,400 owed to Talleres for Rodrigo Garro and 1.075 million euros to Shakthar Donetsk for Maycon, plus US$ 1.5 million to Philadelphia Union for José Martínez and 1 million euros to Midtjylland for Charles.
