Who is playing today? 👀

Ecuador and Curaçao clash in Kansas City with both sides looking to pick up their first points off this FIFA World Cup™.

La Tricolor were extremely unfortunate in their opening game against Côte d'Ivoire as they hit the woodwork three times before cruelly conceding a last minute winner to Amad Diallo which saw their 19-game, almost two-year unbeaten run finally come to an end.

Curaçao weren't quite so unfortunate as they were given a harsh welcome to life on the big stage by suffering a 7-1 thrashing at the hands of Germany on their debut, although Livano Comenencia's brief equaliser gave them a moment to cherish forever.

Players to watch 🔥

John Yeboah, Alan Minda and Enner Valencia will all be out for blood this time for Ecuador as they were the three frustrated parties who each saw the woodwork struck in their opener.

Ecuador's defence will be key (marshalled by Champions League winner Willian Pacho) and they have kept 12 clean sheets in their last 20 games under coach Sebastián Beccacece.

Curaçao 'keeper Eloy Room will surely be kept busy again but on the break, the pace of the likes of Tahith Chong and Jürgen Locadia could expose open space if they find it.

Curaçao fans haven't let their opening game disappointment get them down.

Fun facts 📊

  • Ecuador are unbeaten in their last 13 games with CONCACAF sides stretching across seven years and all competitions
  • In their opening game, Curaçao became only the second side to concede 7+ goals on their World Cup™ debut, with Korea Republic losing 9-0 in their first game in 1954 against Hungary
