FIFA will pay US$ 200,000 to rent the Maracanã for the 2027 Women’s World Cup final, worth about R$ 1.156 million.

According to Globo.com, the fee was fixed on 15 August 2025 in a "First Amendment to Stadium Agreement" with the Consórcio Fla-Flu, using an exchange of US$ 1 to R$ 5.60.

Flamengo and Fluminense now charge R$ 300,000 to hire the ground, up from R$ 200,000. The World Cup contract currently covers only the final, and the stadium could also host the opener and other matches.

FIFA is also discussing variable rental for non-match operational days. The fixed fee falls to US$ 195,000 each for at least four matches, and to US$ 190,000 for five or more.

An initial 30% is due 60 days before exclusive use begins or within 30 days after it ends on invoicing, with the balance payable 30 days after the event or after the invoice is received.

FIFA wants 28 days of exclusive access, the clubs want two weeks. Talks involve the CBF because of the 2027 calendar, with the tournament running 24 June to 25 July.

FIFA has asked the Rio de Janeiro state government to intervene to enforce obligations in the contract with the state, city hall and the CBF. The Maracanã will host its third World Cup final, after 1950 and 2014.
