FIGC president Gabriele Gravina has admitted that there was an “obvious mistake” in last night’s Milan win over Bologna.
The Rossoneri were denied a late penalty after Christopher Nkunku was fouled in the box.
The referee initially awarded a penalty before a VAR review of the decision led it being overturned.
The Rossoneri were extremely unhappy with this decision and head coach Massimiliano Allegri was shown a red card for his reaction to the incident.

Speaking to Radio Anch’io Sport, via IlMilanista, Gravina confirmed an error had been made.
“This is an obvious mistake. But when we talk about technology, we are moving forward, not going back to the past. Technology has significantly reduced the percentage of errors; just look at those cases where referees, without technology, are in doubt and clearly looking for confirmation.”
Fortunately for Allegri’s side last night, the overturned penalty made little impact on the full time result.
A goal from experienced midfielder Luka Modric was enough to grant the Rossoneri an important 1-0 win against a plucky Bologna side led by Vincenzo Italiano.
Milan face in-form Udinese next weekend as both sides search for their third win of the season.
