Palmeiras could receive a boost for the start of the 2026 season, with midfielder Figueiredo cleared to begin his physical transition after rejoining the squad on Monday.

According to Nosso Palestra, the 19-year-old completed clinical tests on 5 January, passed them, and was authorised to start transition work. The medical staff plan roughly 45 days in this phase before he can be considered by Abel Ferreira for the senior group.

He suffered a right anterior cruciate ligament injury during the Libertadores Sub-20 in February 2025, underwent surgery on 28 February, then began rehabilitation the following week under the Núcleo de Saúde e Performance (NSP). In November he progressed to running on the pitch and light finishing under NSP supervision.

The midfielder previously ruptured his right anterior cruciate ligament in September 2022 and missed around nine months. Shortly after returning, he sustained the same injury in his left knee and required another operation.

Figueiredo has one senior appearance, against Corinthians in the 2025 Paulistão group stage at Allianz Parque.
