Porto opened talks to sign 20-year-old striker Mame Niang from Hamarkameratene, known as HamKam. The move now looks unlikely because of the Norwegian club’s financial demands.
According to O Jogo, Porto submitted two bids worth up to 1.5 million euros, both rejected. Niang has scored four goals in nine games this year.
HamKam are pushing for a higher fee, but Porto are unwilling to go beyond their offers despite the forward’s potential.
Had a deal been struck, Niang was set to start with the B team, coached by João Brandão.
Earlier this window, Porto signed 16-year-old midfielder Eirik Granaas from Norway. He has been praised by Francesco Farioli, with whom he is currently working.
