City will wear our 2025/26 PUMA Home kit for this clash.
Edwards came to national prominence as a manager when he guided Luton Town in the top-flight via the 2022/23 Championship play-offs.
Operating on a shoestring budget by Premier League standards, Edwards’ Luton gave a good account of themselves but ultimately succumbed to relegation.
He then left the club midway through the following campaign before arriving at Middlesbrough in the summer of 2025.
However, after a promising start on Teesside, he chose to make the move to Wolves in November - the club he’d been most successful with as a player.
He eventually guided Wolves to their first win of the campaign earlier this month and has overseen an upturn in results, even they remain bottom of the Premier League.
Youngster Mateus Mane has come to the fore in recent weeks with his direct running and eye for a shot. Aged 18 and an England youth international, his energy has been vital in Wolves’ three draws and a win in their last four matches.
The international stardust comes in midfield, where Joao Gomes and Andre have both featured for Brazil over the last couple of years.
Jorgen Strand Larsen is the target man up top who enjoyed a prolific 2024/25 and, while he has struggled a little more this term, he remains a real goal threat.
The boss will speak to the media ahead of this clash at 12:30 (UK) on Friday 23 January.
We’ll show it live on mancity.com and our official app and we’ll have full written and video recaps shortly after it concludes.

City laboured to a 3-1 Champions League defeat at Bodo/Glimt on Tuesday evening.
Played on an artificial pitch in freezing conditions, the Blues never warmed to the occasion as Kasper Hogh had the hosts 2-0 up by half-time.
They made it three just before the hour mark with a curling Jens Petter Hauge effort before Rayan Cherki gave us a glimmer of hope a minute later.
However, that was extinguished almost immediately as Rodri was sent off following two quickfire yellow cards.
These two sides last met on the opening day of the 2025/26 season, with City running out convincing 4-0 winners at Molineux.
Haaland tapped home at the back post for the opener just past the half hour mark after a pinpoint cross from the left by Rico Lewis.
Reijnders doubled our lead moments later after moving onto an Oscar Bobb through ball and producing a classy finish.
Our No.9 Haaland, who has scored on each of his four Premier League opening days, put the game beyond Wolves with a mesmeric move involving Reijnders and Bobb which ended with the clinical Norwegian firing past Jose Sa.
Cherki completed the scoring on a wonderful afternoon with a bullet drive just eight minutes after coming on.
