Benfica and Porto have been fined a combined 24,222 euros for offences during their Taça de Portugal round-of-16 clássico at Estádio do Dragão. According to Glorioso 1904, Benfica must pay 6,983 euros and Porto 17,239 euros.

Porto were hit with 1,530 euros for misuse of the public address system after the stadium announcer twice led chants, prompting an insulting anti-Benfica response from the crowd.

Banners targeting Rui Costa and José Mourinho and the entry of pyrotechnics into the ground, namely six flashlights, 24 flares or smoke pots and five firecrackers, added 3,978 euros to Porto’s bill. A further 2,040 euros were imposed after Super Dragões threw flares onto the pitch, delaying a second-half restart.

Benfica’s tally includes disciplinary cautions and a 5,100 euro fine for José Mourinho not fulfilling Sport TV’s flash interview. He later returned to the area at 23:26 after speaking to host broadcaster RTP, but the Sport TV crew had already left.

Before kick-off a Benfica supporter set off a firecracker, costing the club 1,530 euros. Porto won the tie 1-0 at the Dragão, where Richard Ríos went off injured and Enzo Barrenechea later voiced anger on social media.
