Fiorentina ‘in negotiations’ for Leeds United’s Willy Gnonto | OneFootball

Fiorentina are interested in signing Leeds United winger Willy Gnonto with four days left of the summer window.

Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Fiorentina are in negotiations with Leeds over the 22-year-old, adding that he could return to Italy and that the club are exploring him as a winger.

Gnonto has made 147 appearances for Leeds since joining from FC Zurich in September 2022. He managed only four Premier League starts last season and also sustained a calf injury.

He caught the eye in pre-season, notably as a second-half substitute in the 1-1 draw against Manchester United in Dublin from right wing back. He then suffered a hamstring injury in that game and has not featured since.

Boss Daniel Farke said on Friday that Gnonto was set to return to training that day ahead of Sunday’s visit of Brentford. Farke also discussed plans for the attacker when outlining his options at his pre-Brentford press conference.
