Fiorentina have shown strong interest in signing Augsburg winger Rubén Vargas, according to Florian Plettenberg.
The Italian side have contacted Augsburg and have submitted a verbal offer for the 25-year-old. This comes after a first offer was placed, however this was rejected as Augsburg believed that the offer was way too low.
Vargas has been valued at €7m-€10m all in.
The Swiss international has made 15 appearances for Augsburg this season, scoring one goal and providing one assist so far.
His contract expires in 2025 and there has been no agreement to extend it, as of now.
According to Nicolo Schira, Fiorentina have an agreement in principle with Vargas for a contract until 2028 but it is now down to the two clubs to agree on a fee so that the deal can go ahead.
Fiorentina currently sit fourth in Serie A, and are looking for extra firepower to steer them towards a Champions League place.
