Gazzetta suggests that Fiorentina are reviving their pursuit of Radu Dragusin and Matteo Ruggeri, with sporting director Fabio Paratici targeting a defensive double move this summer.

Both players have Serie A pedigree and are currently abroad, as the Viola seek to rebound from a disappointing 25/26 campaign.

Tottenham centre-back Dragusin was a January target when Fiorentina tried to prise him from London. Ties between the clubs remain strong after Paratici’s spell in north London before his return to Italy in February, which could help any renewed talks.

Tottenham’s valuation of about €20 million is the main hurdle. Ruggeri, an Atalanta-bred left-back now at Atletico Madrid, is rated at a similar figure.

Completing both would be a significant outlay, especially together, but Paratici’s familiarity with both clubs and existing relationships could prove decisive as Fiorentina look to reshape their back line before the new season.
