Roberto Firmino, 34, currently with Al-Sadd in Qatar, has caught the eye of Corinthians supporters after appearing in a social media video training in this season’s shirt.
His connection with the club is long-standing, and he has repeatedly described himself as a Corinthians fan who follows the team closely. His name has been linked with the club in several transfer windows.
In 2024 he fuelled excitement by replying to a post by then Corinthians midfielder Igor Coronado with three fire emojis.
In the same year he voiced a wish to play for Corinthians if he returned to Brazilian football: “Eu coloquei em oração e, quando o Senhor quiser fazer, confirmar no meu coração, vai acontecer. O desejo de voltar ao Brasil tem aumentado no meu coração.” He told UOL Esporte in 2024.
Any move still appears distant, as Firmino is under contract at Al-Sadd until June 2027.
In 2025/26 he has played 33 matches, scoring 19 goals and providing seven assists.
After youth spells at CRB, he broke through at Figueirense before joining TSG Hoffenheim, then moved to Liverpool in 2015, winning the Champions League and Premier League. He signed for Al-Ahli in 2023 and, two years later, joined Al-Sadd.
