As captain of the U19 squad, Selton scored a goal and provided two assists in the Youth League against Borussia Dortmund. His coach, Ernesto Valverde, gave him his senior debut on November 5 against Newcastle in the Champions League. Just four days later, he started against Real Oviedo in La Liga, playing 64 minutes.

Valverde said of him: "Selton is talented, hardworking, and very confident." The young midfielder could soon make a name for himself in football.
