West Ham have tabled offers for both Jonathan David and Angel Gomes, its been reported.

Club insider ExWHUEmployee of The West Ham Way has provided an update on the current state of play, as the club look to build a team this summer to align with the style and system of Graham Potter, who now has his right-hand-man Kyle Macaulay as the Head of Recruitment.

West Ham signed Evan Ferguson on a straight loan from Brighton this January, however Ex has reported that Potter is keen for the club to make the move permanent in the upcoming summer transfer window.

“Potter really admires Ferguson, so as long as he stays fit and proves himself then I do think there will be a push to sign the player permanently this summer,” stated Ex.

“We are also very keen on Emanuel Emegha of Strasbourg. The 22 year old Dutchman has been identified as another option which the club could well look to explore.”

In a latest update surrounding Lille duo Jonathan David and Angel Gomes, Ex has advised that the club are very much firmly in the mix to land both players, although there is expected to be fierce competition for them.

“Both players are available for free in the summer and this lack of transfer fee has meant the club has been able to put much more onto wages, signing fees and agent fees,” stated Ex. “The club see both as real bargains to improve the squad and have already made their proposals very clear to the players and their agents.

“West Ham know they face a huge amount of competition for their signatures but both players are legible now to sign pre contract agreements and by moving quickly now they hope this could give them the advantage.

“The recruitment team which includes Potter, Macauley, Hahn and Curnell are all agreed on the value and potential these players could add. Of course many other targets have been identified but there is no question we are in for these players. The club have stressed though they think they are difficult transfers to conclude.”

Ex also provided an update on Ezechiel Banzuzi, who we were heavily linked to in January, with it understood that our interest in the powerful midfielder has not waned – as we look to re-open talks with Belgian Pro League club OH Leuven to land the 20 year old this summer.

Furthermore, our insider also provided an update on the defender front, with the club open to allowing Dinos Mavropanos to depart, should the right offer come in for the Greek international.

“We believe that the club are now open to selling Mavropanos,” added Ex. “Although Potter does like him, it’s felt an upgrade is needed.

“Koni De Winter of Genoa is a player the club have scouted and are very keen on, with the Belgium international seen as an option to build our back-line under Potter.

“However this will likely depend on the sale of Mavropanos and of course the situation with Nayef Aguerd, and whether the club look to cash in on the Moroccan following his successful loan in Spain this season.”
