France’s 2026 World Cup home shirt has emerged with a blue and copper palette. According to Footy Headline, it follows an early January leak of the mint away kit.
That away design, revealed on six January, is a first for Les Bleus, who have never worn green. The mint tone nods to the Statue of Liberty, a gift from France to the United States for the centenary of independence.
The home shirt continues the Statue of Liberty theme for a tournament staged in the United States, Canada and Mexico from 11 June to 19 July. France even hinted at the link by posting an image of the monument on social media in November.
There is no radical colour switch this time, with traditional blue retained. A striated pattern brings varying shades, and the shirt is darker than the 2024 version, dominated by navy.
A collar returns, recalling the 2014 World Cup kit used in Brazil. This iteration fades from white to navy at the back with discreet red accents at the fastening, while the manufacturer’s logo and the cockerel crest appear in copper to evoke the Statue’s oxidised surface.
