According to reports in the French sports newspaper L’Équipe , the German record champions currently have the best cards in the race for Mbemba. However, the deal is not yet a done deal. In addition to Bayern, Bayer Leverkusen are also said to be showing concrete interest in the PSG youngster and are keeping a close eye on the defender. A final decision on his future has yet to be made

Particularly interesting for FC Bayern: Mbemba’s contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires in a few months. The French top club would like to keep the defender and offer him the prospect of a first professional contract, but this is precisely where Bayern apparently senses an opportunity. Munich have proven several times in the past that they can convince talented players from France to make a move at an early stage – with clear development plans and a reputation for offering young professionals real prospects

Max Eberl and his team continue to pursue the strategy of investing in exceptional talent at an early stage in order to benefit from it in the medium term, both in sporting and economic terms. Mbemba fits this profile perfectly

Versatile defensive player with a strong left foot

Mbemba currently plays for Paris Saint-Germain’s U19s and has already earned 13 caps for the French U17 national team. His strong left foot is particularly noticeable, which makes him suitable as both a left-back and a left-sided central defender – an attribute that is in high demand on the transfer market

Despite his young age, Mbemba already impresses with his strong tactical understanding. He reads the game early, positions himself intelligently and reacts quickly in transition situations. He also has exceptional speed, which he can use to defend spaces and make up for mistakes made by teammates. Despite his lack of size, the 17-year-old also makes a robust, athletic impression physically

Whether Mbemba ultimately decides to join FC Bayern, stay at PSG or move to Bayer Leverkusen remains to be seen, but one thing is clear: Munich are at the forefront of the race for one of France’s most interesting defensive talents. Should Bayern succeed in bringing Mbemba to Säbener Strasse, it would be the next building block in the record champions‘ long-term squad and campus strategy.
