Leeds United are preparing the biggest Elland Road overhaul in decades, a full North Stand rebuild and major West Stand upgrade targeting a 53,000 capacity, improved hospitality and accessibility, and safeguarding the stadium's famed atmosphere.
According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, hundreds of Facebook responses set out five priorities, stressing that matchdays should protect the soul of Elland Road as much as increase seat numbers.
Capacity topped the list. With tens of thousands on the season-ticket waiting list, supporters including Samantha Hickman and Mark Norton simply want enough seats so more can get through the turnstiles.
Connectivity was another. Claire Louise, Lyndsey Mitchell and Scott Rumsey called for dependable WiFi and mobile signal so fans can check scores, watch replays and message friends at half-time.
Comfort mattered too. Elland Road’s tight rows and narrow walkways were highlighted, with James Greenwood, Ian Francis and Stephen 'Billy Bunter' Pickles urging more leg room in any rebuilt stands.
Many also pressed for safe standing, whether rail seating or a modern take on terraces. David Fred Thorp and Gaz Roberts want a dedicated area for those who stand and sing without blocking others' views.
Transport remains a headache. With Armley Gyratory already a bottleneck, suggestions ranged from Mark Ferrand’s tramline idea to Dave Kay’s direct link from Leeds station, and Tyreece Smith’s dedicated bridge, alongside better shuttle options.
