According to Globo.com, Flaco López, Palmeiras' standout at the start of 2026, has kept his future deliberately vague, saying his focus is the present and a World Cup push with Argentina.
The Argentine was named 2026 Campeonato Paulista player of the season on Monday. He also finished as second-highest scorer with six goals, one behind Novorizontino's Robson.
Asked about possible mid-year interest from Europe, he said he is happy at the club and will leave any talks for later, stressing respect for the shirt, a daily commitment to improve, and a desire to compete for trophies.
López arrived in 2022 for $7 million, about R$35 million at the time, and initially struggled to adapt, even considering a move after some costly misses.
River Plate made an offer in 2024, but Abel Ferreira convinced him to stay. It paid off as he produced a career-best 2025 with 25 goals and six assists, though Palmeiras ended that season without silverware.
Interest returned in December, yet the club closed the door on any exit as he became central to a campaign that ended a two-year trophy drought, underlined by his Paulista award.
With the mid-year window overlapping the World Cup, López is in contention for Lionel Scaloni's squad to defend the title.
For now he stays with Palmeiras, who visit Vasco on Thursday in the Brasileirão's fifth round, kick-off 19:30 at São Januário.
