Flaco López earns Argentina call-up after Palmeiras form

Flaco López has been called up by Argentina after a prolific start to 2026 with Palmeiras. He has nine goals and three assists in 17 matches, and was named player of the Paulistão that Palmeiras won.

According to Nosso Palestra, the Argentina manager named his squad on Wednesday 18 March for the world champions' next friendly, with Lionel Scaloni's side to face Guatemala on 31 March.

The call-up means López will not be available to Abel Ferreira during the FIFA window. As the match is in Argentina, he may return in time for the game against Grêmio, whose date has not yet been confirmed.

Palmeiras host Botafogo in the Brasileirão on 18 March at 19:00 Brasília time.

They then visit São Paulo on 21 March at 21:00 Brasília time.
