Flamengo agree deal for Leonardo Jardim as three staff arrive | OneFootball

Flamengo have agreed the appointment of head coach Leonardo Jardim through the end of the 2027 season, with three staff joining his backroom team. According to Coluna Do Fla, António Vieira, José Barros and Diogo Dias reported to the club on Friday.

The trio arrived in Rio de Janeiro on Thursday night. They missed Jardim’s first two training sessions with Flamengo, but have already been brought up to speed by the new head coach.

The three staff members will take part in one more session with the squad on Saturday at Ninho do Urubu. It comes on the eve of the clássico against Fluminense.

The Campeonato Carioca title will be decided in a single match. The winner on Sunday will be crowned state champions, and a draw will send the final to penalties.

Flamengo face Fluminense at the Maracanã on Sunday, with kick-off at 18:00 Brasília time.
