Flamengo and fellow Libra clubs have agreed to end their dispute over how audience-based TV income is shared under the Globo contract, which runs to 2029. The clubs said in a statement that the audience metric accounts for 30% of the fixed remuneration in the deal.
The row dates back to last year. The agreement with Libra was signed by former Flamengo president Rodolfo Landim. Since taking office in December 2024, Bap has pushed to increase the club’s share.
Flamengo filed a lawsuit seeking to block the transfer of R$ 77 million to other Libra teams. In November, a decision released part of those funds. The new board argued it suffered losses under the contract signed in 2024.
The club had also challenged the rule used to divide the portion linked to measured audience.
Agreement was reached on a balance between the new board’s requests since January 2025 and the model favoured by some clubs. Attention now turns to creating a National League, increasing the value of club properties and strengthening the Brazilian football ecosystem with the CBF and FFU clubs.
