According to Coluna Do Fla, Flamengo and Red Bull Bragantino have restarted negotiations over Wallace Yan’s transfer.
The clubs had aligned terms in early January at about €10 million, R$ 62 million, as a fixed fee. Bragantino then sought to make half of the sum conditional on targets, so Flamengo refused to proceed.
With the impasse, Flamengo did not authorise medical tests in Bragança Paulista, São Paulo. The player was reintegrated and, after five games out of the squad, was on the bench for the 1-1 draw with Internacional on Wednesday.
Following that draw, the club became optimistic about concluding a deal. The player recently told a Flamengo supporter he would dedicate himself to reach his best version on and off the pitch.
While negotiations are still unresolved, Wallace Yan remains an option for coach Filipe Luís. On Friday, the coach will decide the matchday squad for the game against Sampaio Corrêa. The sides meet on Saturday in the sixth round of the Campeonato Carioca at 21:00 Brasília time, and Wallace Yan could again be on the bench.
