Flamengo have called their councillors to a meeting on Wednesday 17, as president Luiz Eduardo Baptista, Bap, seeks to address questions around the club’s finances.

According to Coluna Do Fla, first-half financial results will be presented, after budget targets were dented by an early Copa do Brasil exit and defeats in the Supercopa and Recopa Sul-Americana. The outlet reported the club are not cruising financially at this stage, which drew reaction among supporters.

Beyond the numbers, Bap will set out objectives for the second half of the year and is expected to reveal how much can be spent in the upcoming transfer window, with the Brasileirão and Copa Libertadores still on the calendar.

Since the start of Bap’s management in 2025, meetings of the Conselho Deliberativo have followed a hybrid model, with some members in person at Gávea and others online.

The report last week said the club will not have much to invest mid-season after aggressive early spending on Lucas Paquetá and Andrew, so negotiations tend to be more modest.

Priorities are a back-up for Pedro and a playmaker to rotate with Arrascaeta, with South American targets of resale potential preferred.
