Flamengo president Luiz Eduardo Baptista, Bap, will receive the Medalha Tiradentes from the Assembleia Legislativa do Estado do Rio de Janeiro. According to Coluna Do Fla, it will be Flamengo’s first medal of 2025.

The honour recognises his leadership at the club during 2025, with administrative and financial restructuring cited as the main criterion.

Deputy Alexandre Knoploch, who led the proposal, said the recipient’s work has helped strengthen Rio de Janeiro’s image as a centre of sporting and modern administrative excellence.

Baptista was elected in 2024 to serve the 2025 to 2027 term. In his first year in charge, Flamengo won the Libertadores, Brasileirão, Carioca and Supercopa.

Flamengo could collect their first trophy of 2026 this month, with the Recopa first leg on 19 February in Argentina against Lanús. The return is at the Maracanã on 26 February.
