Flamengo’s Deliberative Council has called a meeting for 27 January to vote on a proposed change to the club’s statute. The session is scheduled for the Salão Nobre at Gávea in Rio de Janeiro.

According to Coluna Do Fla, club president Luiz Eduardo Baptista has proposed an amendment to prevent officials from other teams from serving in Flamengo’s governing bodies. The measure would cover any direct or indirect interference.

Several figures from the club’s previous hierarchy now work elsewhere in Brazil. Former president Rodolfo Landim is part of the group that acquired Confiança’s SAF, while Marcos Braz is a director at Remo.

The meeting will run in two parts. The first begins at 18:30 Brasília time, the second at 19:00. It will be held in a hybrid format, with virtual access for those unable to attend at Gávea.

Meanwhile, Flamengo face Bangu on Wednesday 14 at 21:30 Brasília time at Estádio de Moça Bonita, in the first round of the Carioca.
