Arrascaeta capped 2025 with outstanding form and no injuries, and Flamengo have explained the fitness work behind it while mapping a 2026 plan.

According to Coluna Do Fla, fitness coach Diogo Linhares and doctor Fernando Sassaki said his availability was high for club and Uruguay, crediting a multi-disciplinary effort led by the player. They spoke on Monday, noting minutes, metrics and days missed all trended positively.

Linhares highlighted head coach Filipe Luís's role in decisions, close monitoring by physiotherapist Laniyan Neves and direct dialogue with Uruguay’s federation staff. He added they will keep close contact and track any reduction in minutes.

Sassaki pointed to the midfielder’s experience and maturity, stressing how his own feedback guides medical decisions. That shared understanding helps strike the right balance and contributed to an almost clean bill of health.

Arrascaeta played 64 games, scored 25 goals and supplied 20 assists in 2025, up from 43 appearances, 10 goals and 10 assists in 2024. He was pivotal as Flamengo lifted the Libertadores and the Brasileirão.

The staff aim to maintain the approach in 2026, an atypical season with the World Cup, by studying the schedule and tailoring plans individually. They say they can still improve.
