Flamengo supporters have snapped up all tickets for the Palmeiras match at the Maracanã on Saturday, 23 May, in the Campeonato Brasileiro. The club said in a post that the allocation has sold out.

Sales were brought forward because of the fixture's importance, with member purchases opening on seven May.

The game carries weight in the table, with current leaders Palmeiras looking to extend their advantage and second-placed Flamengo targeting top spot.

Flamengo have not revealed how many tickets were released. For comparison, the last clássico at the stadium, against Vasco, drew an estimated 65,000.

Attendance may vary depending on the visiting allocation, which is sold by Palmeiras. Before then, Flamengo visit Athletico-PR at the Arena da Baixada on Sunday in the Brasileirão, then face Estudiantes-ARG in the Libertadores on Wednesday.
