Flamengo face Cruzeiro again at 20:30 on Saturday at the Mineirão in the Campeonato Brasileiro. Leonardo Jardim is set to tweak his side, with Léo Pereira a late withdrawal and Danilo expected to partner Léo Ortiz.
According to Globo.com, Pereira has been rested due to fatigue after four straight starts in two weeks. He was on the initial squad list, then the staff chose to keep him from travelling.
Pulgar is also feeling the workload but travelled and could begin on the bench. Jorginho and Arrascaeta may be managed too, with the Wednesday to Saturday turnaround deemed short despite a free week to follow.
Jardim is expected to continue his rotation. Much of the team that routed Mirassol last round could remain, with changes in most areas.
The probable XI is Rossi, a back four of Varela, Danilo, Léo Ortiz and Ayrton Lucas. Midfield of Evertton Araújo or Pulgar with Paquetá and Carrascal or Arrascaeta, plus Luiz Araújo or Lino, Plata and Pedro or Bruno Henrique.
Three remain sidelined in the medical room. Alex Sandro is recovering from right calf tendinitis, Vitão has a left thigh muscle injury that needs a few more weeks, and De la Cruz is also out with a left thigh issue.
Everton Cebolinha and Wallace Yan did not make the trip by technical decision.
Flamengo sit second on 45 points. Palmeiras lead on 48 with a game more, and defeat for them would leave Flamengo needing a simple win to go top.
